What have I learned from Video Games?

In my several years in gaming, from 1 to 15, I have learned a lot about my favorite media genre. One being how much they are movies in your control. Rockstar games are AMAZING examples of this. LA Noire is a, well, noire film, and you get to play the detective. So, wether you fail or succeed is in YOUR hands. Another is Grand Theft Auto V. I'm sure I don't need to explain, but for the 2 of you who don't know what that game is, look it up. Another thing is how gameplay can make up for story, but story can make up for gameplay. The gameplay making up for story can be exampled through any 2D Mario game. THE PRINCESS WAS CAPTURED BY BOWSER! GO SAVE HER! Simple. But the gameplay is so varied and so much fun, people give it a pass. Now an example for story making up for gameplay can be shown in Five Nights at Freddy's. The games are INCREDIBLY simple, and at times can even be boring. But the story is so vast! Murder, mystery, hauntings, killer robots, death, etc! Gaming is maybe the best media, and a LOT can be learned from it! This is Kyle, logging off.
