With VALVe being big on user created content with the workshop, and Super Mario Maker just coming out, it feels like everyone wants the community to make their dream games. So, this "creating things for your favorite games" is nothing new. Creating weapons and hats for TF2 is an old concept. Even before the workshop was out, half the items in-game was fan made. Super Mario Maker was made far after fans created engines to recreate Mario games. GMOD had websites before the Workshop. Now, why is this such a popular concept? Well, it all stems from the fact that we as humans want to create. When we see something cool and want to be part of it, we start working towards it. Sometimes it's working towards getting to said developers, sometimes it's creating something of our own to create more. I sure as hell know Super Mario Maker is an amazing game, and creating for the workshop to show off your creativity and passion for said game is an amazing feat. Anyways, all I know is modeling is hard, so I ain't gonna be making nothin' for TF2! This is Kyle, logging off.
