REVIEW: Five Nights at Freddy's 4

(SPOILER WARNING!)

The Five Nights at Freddy's series really set a bar in the horror genre. No, no, not for being "ZE SPOOPSIEST GAEM EVAR!!!!1111ELEVEN!" But because it removes your 2 basic horror needs, free movement and an attack. Now, as the first game did averagely well, Five Nights 2 is what sold me. It took the first game and put it on STERIODS! Now, the 3rd I thought was maybe the weakest out of the four, having only one animatronic. But we're not here for a history, we're here for FNaF4! Now, does it hold a candle to 2? I'd say it comes in close second to me. The story is gripping at times and really makes you think. The creator, Scott Cawthon put many easter eggs to hint us towards our untimely fate towards the end. He hides things to screw with our heads. The death at the end of the game is NOT the infamous Bite of '87! Shown by hidden tapes in minigames, the game takes place in 1983! The mysterious Purple Man is shown putting the head of Spring Bonnie on an employee. This adds more mystery as to how he is here, and when the murders are on the timeline. The gameplay is decent, in my not so humble opinion. The monitor that made the game is now gone, replaced with a full 360 degree turn to look all around the room. You must keep the tiny Freddies at bay by shining the light on them. If you fail, Nightmare Freddy comes for you. Check the closet and hold it closed if you see Nightmare Foxy, or he gets you. Keep the doors closed if you hear breathing, or you might be killed by Nightmare Bonnie or Nightmare Chica respectively. All in all, decent gameplay. For all your troubles, you get Night 6. Keep Nightmare out is your only objective. Night 7 is hell, through and through. 20/20/20/20 mode is back, and IT WILL MAKE YOUR BUTT CLENCH. DO NOT ATTEMPT! I REPEAT: DO NOT ATTEMPT! YOU WILL DIE. Anyways, it is my second favorite FNaF game, and it is one hell of a game at that! I give it 8 outta 10 Power Stars!
